I've loved Voluminous for years. I also have been using Maybelline Great Lash BIG Lash and for everyday look I use Lash Discovery. I like that cheek highlighter trick. Gotta check out that elf product you mentioned. I bought some elf eyeshadow at the dollar tree and was surprised at how pigmented it was.
