Fashion trends are constantly evolving, and one can be forgiven for losing track of which
dresses to wear, where to look for fashionable garments, or which colours are the biggest
this season. So, let’s have a look, shall we? For the upcoming season, restraint is the
key idea to keep in mind. Whether you’re looking for petite maxi dresses, or a gorgeous
swimsuit for a memorable summer holiday, less is certainly more this year.

From women’s dresses to swimsuits, fuss-free and functional are two of this season’s
biggest trends. Minimalism has always been present in the fashion market, but it’s been a
while since it has made its way into mainstream trends. The great thing about the simplicity
fashion lovers are sure to see this season, is that the lines and shapes will be timeless,
flattering and very comfortable.

Prada’s new swimsuit range, shown in Milan recently, has undoubtedly set the trend for
swimsuits this year. And with a unique, stylish and fabulous feel, Miuccia Prada’s summer/
spring 2012 clothing range was equally loved by the crowds.
The range included 60’s Americana references, including knife-pleat skirts and dresses in
gentle hues of baby blue and pink. The garments were finished off with flower themes,
including diamante costume jewellery and some of the most fabulous shoes of the season.
With flames and Fender detail on the heels, their rock ‘n’ roll style is sure to be a hit.
Even though the rest of the range was very well received, it’s Prada’s swimsuits which
have everyone buzzing. With deep, simple, V-necks and waist-accentuating designs, these
gorgeous creations are sure to inspire a number of similar options on the high street – albeit
with a little less embellishment or expensive crocheting!
Victoria Beckham attended the show in Milan and said that she was “absolutely blown
away” by the Prada range: “Everything she does is genius. I've never met her, but everything
she does - not just the hair, the make-up, the shows - everything about the brand impresses
UK editors obviously agree, as Candice Swanepoel and Jennifer Lawrence will both feature
on covers next month in Prada bathing suits. Vogue Paris, Elle China and Harper’s Bazaar –
to name a few – are also featuring these fabulous designs.
